Amiri decree issued to form CITRA Board of Directors

An Amiri Decree No 160 of 2025 has been issued to form the new Board of Directors of the Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA); renewable four-year term.

The board will be chaired by Dr. Khaled Mohammed Abdullah Al-Zamel. The vice-chairperson is Eng. Manal Khaled Saleh Al-Mazid.

The other members include Dr. Walid Issa Abdullah Al-Hasawi, Dr. Dhari Adel Abdulrahman Al-Huwail as full-time members, along with Dr. Munira Saleh Nams Al-Namsh, Dr. Zainab Munjed Al-Badr Al-Qanaei, and Abdullah Fahd Abdullah Al-Khazam as part-time members.

The decree assigns the Minister of State for Communications Affairs, Omar Saud Abdulaziz Al-Omar, to implement its provisions.

The decree was signed by HH the Amir, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, at the Seif Palace on 24 Safar 1447 AH, corresponding to August 18, 2025.

Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahd Yousef Saud Al-Sabah also has endorsed the decree.

The announcement marks a significant step in strengthening the governance of Kuwait’s communications and information technology sector, ensuring regulatory oversight and strategic development in line with the country’s modernization goals.
