53 industrial facilities shut down in major Fahaheel safety crackdown

KFF leads safety sweep; dozens of violating shops closed, 120 warnings issued; joint government raid targets unsafe facilities in Fahaheel Industrial Zone

The Kuwait Fire Force, in coordination with several government bodies, carried out a large-scale inspection campaign in the Fahaheel Industrial Area, targeting facilities and shops that failed to comply with fire safety and regulatory requirements.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday, the campaign involved joint efforts between the ministries of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy; Commerce and Industry, the Public Authority for Industry, the Environment Public Authority, and the Kuwait Municipality.

The operation led to the administrative closure of 53 industrial facilities and shops found to be in serious violation of safety regulations.

The inspectors also issued 120 notices and warnings to other establishments, urging them to address deficiencies and comply with safety standards to avoid future penalties.

The authorities stressed that such campaigns will continue across Kuwait’s industrial and commercial areas to protect public safety, safeguard workers, and ensure that all businesses meet the required fire prevention and operational standards.
