MCI closes 11 shops in Jahra for selling counterfeit goods

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has closed 11 commercial outlets in the Jahra Governorate for displaying and selling counterfeit and imitation products.

In a statement, the ministry said the inspection teams carried out a targeted campaign in coordination with the competent authorities, focusing on markets and retail outlets suspected of trading in fake goods.

The inspections revealed large quantities of counterfeit items, including branded clothing, accessories, perfumes, and consumer products, in violation of intellectual property and trademark protection laws, according to news reports.

Legal measures are being taken against the violators, who now face potential fines and other penalties under Kuwait’s commercial and anti-counterfeiting regulations.
