Kuwait, US Central Command discuss boosting security cooperation

Brigadier-General Sheikh Mubarak Ali Al-Sabah, Director-General of the Coast Guard, met with Admiral Brad Cooper, Commander of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), to explore ways to strengthen joint security cooperation.

The meeting took place at CENTCOM headquarters in the United States as part of Sheikh Mubarak’s official visit. At the outset, he conveyed the congratulations of Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef to Admiral Cooper on assuming his new role, wishing him success.

The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the security field to improve the efficiency of joint operations and safeguard the stability of the region, reports Al-Rai daily.

Sheikh Mubarak reaffirmed the depth of the historic ties and strategic partnership between Kuwait and the US, stressing the value of close coordination to advance shared interests.

He also commended CENTCOM’s significant role in leading coalition forces during the liberation of Kuwait, underscoring the enduring strength of relations between the two nations.
