MCI approves new organizational structure to boost efficiency and services

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has announced the approval of its new organizational structure in line with Ministerial Decision No. (160) of 2025, issued by Minister Khalifa Al-Ajil.
The updated structure introduces two new assistant undersecretary positions and reorganizes departments under seven general managers.
According to a ministry statement, the restructuring aligns with the Cabinet’s directives to enhance government performance and streamline administrative operations. The changes aim to improve operational efficiency, raise the quality of services for citizens and investors, and better align the Ministry with modern economic and administrative practices, reports Al-Jarida daily.
Key highlights of the new structure include:
- Redistribution of tasks and responsibilities to strengthen internal integration across departments.
- Support for digital transformation and the adoption of modern technologies in managing operations.
- Empowerment of national talent and the promotion of a development-driven work culture.
- Advancement of corporate governance principles, with improved coordination and accelerated procedures in commercial and industrial services.
The Ministry clarified that the structure was approved after a comprehensive technical and organizational study, in accordance with Amiri Decree No. (15) of 1979 on the Civil Service System and related regulations.
The implementation will include updated organizational manuals, revised internal procedures, and training programs to enhance workforce readiness.
