Kuwaiti Embassy in Portugal urges caution amid extreme heat and fire risk

The Kuwaiti Embassy in Portugal has called on Kuwaiti citizens residing in or visiting the country to exercise heightened caution due to soaring temperatures and increased wildfire risk in several regions.

In a statement issued Friday, the embassy emphasized the importance of adhering to safety guidelines and instructions released by Portuguese authorities.

Citizens were advised to remain vigilant during the ongoing heatwave and to avoid affected areas where fire danger is high.

The embassy provided a 24-hour emergency contact number (+351916666645) for any inquiries or assistance needed during this period.

This warning comes as Instituto Português do Mar e da Atmosfera (IPMA) issued a maximum-level alert for rural fire danger in various inland parts of northern and central Portugal.

The extreme heatwave is expected to persist until next Wednesday, with temperatures forecast to reach up to 44°C in some locations.
