
The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) today in Dhaka, bringing together all Member nations in a landmark gathering chaired by Mr. Mohsin Naqvi, ACC President and Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board.
Representing Kuwait Cricket at the high-level meeting were General Secretary Mr. Emad Al-Jassam and Director General Mr. Sajid Ashraf. Kuwait Cricket extended its appreciation to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for their outstanding hospitality and seamless organisation in hosting the AGM in Dhaka for the first time.
Key highlights of the meeting included the approval of audited financials, the ACC’s annual budget, and the full tournament calendar for 2025–2026. These milestones reflect the Council’s commitment to structured development and expanding cricketing opportunities across Asia.
A major announcement was the inclusion of cricket in the Asian Games 2026 to be held in Japan, featuring 10 men’s and 8 women’s teams based on regional rankings. The ACC also welcomed three new Member nations — Mongolia, Uzbekistan, and the Philippines — marking a significant step in growing the sport across new frontiers.
The AGM concluded with ACC President Mr. Mohsin Naqvi along with member nations reaffirming their united commitment to the development of Asian cricket, promoting excellence, inclusion, and expanding the game’s footprint across the continent.
