Public Authority for Industry orders closure of eight industrial plots

. . . five in Shuwaikh citing safety and licensing violations

The Public Authority for Industry (PAI) has issued closure orders for eight industrial plots across Kuwait due to serious regulatory violations. The closures include five sites in the Second Shuwaikh Industrial Area and one each in East Ahmadi, Al-Rai, and the Amghara Industrial Area.

The decision follows inspections revealing multiple infractions, including operating without a valid industrial license, failure to meet safety and environmental standards, absence of personal protective equipment, improper handling and storage of hazardous materials, non-compliant flooring, and blocked emergency exits, reports Al-Rai daily.

The Authority stressed that if the violations are not rectified within one month from the date of closure, more severe penalties will be enforced against the violators.

These actions are part of PAI’s ongoing efforts to ensure industrial facilities adhere to national safety, licensing, and environmental regulations, thereby protecting workers and the surrounding communities.
