Boursa ends week on a positive note with General Index up 60 points

The Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE) ended Thursday’s trading session with a notable gain, as the general index rose by 60.39 points, or 0.71%, to close at 8,605.67 points. Trading activity was robust, with 718.4 million shares exchanged in 34,885 spot transactions, totaling a market value of 134.9 million Kuwaiti dinars.

The Premier Market Index led the gains, climbing 81.92 points (0.88%) to settle at 9,350.87 points, with 186.5 million shares traded through 10,476 transactions, valued at 72.3 million dinars. The KSE Main 50 Index also recorded a modest increase of 5.07 points, or 0.07%, closing at 7,386.56 points. It saw 420 million shares change hands across 14,015 cash transactions, worth 43.5 million dinars, reports Al-Rai daily.

In contrast, the Main Market Index declined slightly by 13.89 points, or 0.19%, to reach 7,323.36 points, with 531.9 million shares traded through 24,409 transactions, amounting to 62.5 million dinars.

Among the standout performers were Digits, Al-Oula, Hotels, and National MB, which saw the biggest gains. On the other hand, Marakez, Emirates, Madar, and Tamdeen A posted the sharpest declines.

The strong close reflects growing investor confidence amid regional market movements and positive global financial sentiment, including record-breaking news in the crypto sector, where Bitcoin surpassed $113,000 for the first time.
