3,007 students accepted into Kuwait’s Foreign Scholarship Program for 2025/2026

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nader Al-Jalal, has approved the names of 3,007 students — both male and female high school graduates from the academic years 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 – who have been accepted from across public, private, and foreign schools.
Dr. Al-Jalal extended heartfelt congratulations to the students and their families, praying for their continued success in a journey he called ‘a key step toward a promising academic and professional future’.
He underscored the Ministry’s strategic focus on external scholarships as essential tools for preparing qualified national talent equipped with modern skills to meet the evolving needs of development.
He noted that this year’s scholarship offerings align with Kuwait’s national development goals, with the addition of new specializations and expanded seats in critical sectors, particularly healthcare and technology — including fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and medical support disciplines.
“The Ministry is committed to building national capacities that meet labor market demands within a strategic framework aimed at raising the overall quality of higher education,” Al-Jalal said. He urged students to approach this opportunity with diligence, uphold national values, and act as cultural ambassadors for Kuwait abroad.
Acting Undersecretary Ms. Lamia Al-Mulhim explained that applications were sorted based on transparent criteria, including equivalent averages for medical and engineering disciplines, high school GPA for other specializations, student preference rankings (up to 8 choices) and seat availability per university agreements in scholarship countries.
She reminded the students to comply with immigration laws, scholarship regulations, and degree equivalency rules in their countries of study to ensure a smooth academic experience.
Meanwhile the students are required to authenticate the financial pledge through the Sahel app with their guardians, upload the medical examination report via the electronic academic system on the Ministry’s website and complete all post-acceptance procedures within 60 days of the acceptance announcement.
The Ministry announced that orientation sessions will take place at the Kuwait University from Tuesday, July 8 to Thursday, July 10. These sessions are part of the national “Guide Me” campaign, designed to inform students about next steps after acceptance.
The sessions will feature representatives from the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Awqaf, heads of cultural offices and scholarship sector officials.
The students will receive text messages with specific attendance schedules and are encouraged to follow the third phase of the “Guide Me” campaign on the Ministry’s official social media accounts for critical updates and instructions.
