NCCAL dissolves Popular Theater Troupe board of directors

The Secretary-General of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters has issued a decision to dissolve the Board of Directors of the Popular Theater Troupe citing violations of Law No. 24 of 1962 on clubs and public benefit associations, as well as breaches of the association’s bylaws.

The decision, published in the Official Gazette (Kuwait Alyawm), also mandates the formation of an interim board of directors tasked with calling a regular general assembly and overseeing the election of a new board in accordance with the association’s rules, reports Al-Rai daily.

The newly appointed interim board, which will serve for six months, comprises:

Manal Majeed Al-Baghdadi (Ministry of Information) – Chairperson

  • Lawyer Abdul Razzaq Dhuryan Al-Enezi (Kuwait Lawyers Association) – Secretary
  • Hanan Faisal Al-Rubaian (Ministry of Finance) – Financial Director
  • Talal Abdullah Al-Asimi (specialist) – Administrative Director
  • Jassim Muhammad Al-Nabhan (founding artist) – Public Relations Director

The dissolved board is required to hand over all documents, records, funds, and official seals to the interim board within three days of the decision.

The interim board will assume all legal powers and responsibilities of the original board, including reviewing current general assembly memberships and evaluating grievances filed by dismissed members.

These steps aim to ensure compliance with the association’s objectives, enhance member engagement, and strengthen Kuwait’s theatrical movement.
