Social Affairs and Education ministries unite to regulate and monitor nurseries

Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaila held a coordination meeting today with Minister of Education Dr. Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabaei to address the regulation of nurseries and the mechanisms for monitoring unlicensed facilities operating in violation of official standards.

In a press statement, the Ministry of Social Affairs announced that both ministries agreed to enhance cooperation by having the Ministry of Education provide a comprehensive database of schools and centers that accommodate children below kindergarten age, reports Al-Rai daily.

The meeting resulted in a joint decision to establish multi-agency inspection teams to identify violations and ensure compliance. The teams will comprise of representatives from the ministries of Social Affairs, Education and Health, in addition to the Kuwait Municipality, the Kuwait Fire Force, and other relevant regulatory bodies.

The objective of the initiative is to safeguard children’s rights and ensure that nurseries operate in a secure and compliant environment. The joint effort reflects the commitment of both ministries to elevate the quality of early childhood education and care across Kuwait.
