Cortez praises KRCS for humanitarian leadership, global relief efforts

Christian Cortez, Deputy Regional Director of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), commended the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) for its distinguished role in crisis response and humanitarian relief, particularly in support of those affected in Gaza and other regions experiencing conflict or natural disasters.

During a visit to the KRCS headquarters, Cortez met with Chairman Khaled Al-Mughamis and was briefed on the organization’s key activities and notable achievements both locally and internationally. He praised the Society’s dedication to humanitarian values and its swift response in times of need, reports Al-Rai daily.

Cortez emphasized the importance of bolstering cooperation between IFRC and KRCS in humanitarian operations, especially in volunteer training and regional response coordination.

For his part, Al-Mughamis affirmed KRCS’s ongoing commitment to global humanitarian work through its collaboration with IFRC and international partners. “We are dedicated to collective action and strong partnerships to effectively respond to emergencies and support vulnerable populations worldwide,” he said.

Al-Mughamis also highlighted Kuwait’s enduring commitment to humanitarian leadership, stating, “Kuwait continues to answer the call of duty, offering relief to those in need and supporting efforts to alleviate the suffering of refugees and displaced communities.”
