MOI announces relief for residency violators before 2020

The Ministry of Interior in Kuwait has announced a new policy allowing residency violators who entered the country before 2020 to legalise their status and pay the prescribed legal fines.

This decision effectively cancels Resolution No. 288 issued in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, which previously limited residency adjustments to violators who entered after March 1st, 2020.

The new policy paves the way for eligible individuals to rectify their situation by following a few steps.

Securing a “no objection” certificate from the Investigations of Residence Affairs department is mandatory before proceeding.

Each violator is required to pay a fine of 600 Kuwaiti dinars. Provide proof of payment to proceed.

Once the fine is paid, proceed to the appropriate Residency Administration in your province to complete the residency renewal process and obtain a new residency permit.
