Prime Minister chairs high-level meeting on infrastructure and transport development

His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah chaired an important meeting at the Seif Palace today to address key issues related to Kuwait’s infrastructure and transportation systems.
The discussions focused on enhancing road safety and improving the efficiency of the country’s transport network. During the meeting the participants in the meeting reviewed a series of strategic issues to reduce the strain on infrastructure, minimizing material and human losses, and tackle customs evasion across land, sea, and air entry points.
The meeting also covered the proposed “Municipality Law,” which seeks to align with the evolving urban landscape and support broader development efforts, reports Al-Rai daily.
His Highness emphasized that these initiatives form part of the government’s ongoing commitment to safeguard the country’s infrastructure and ensure the sustainable and efficient operation.
He stressed the importance of coordination among all institutions and called for the implementation of a smart, technology-driven oversight system that reflects the needs of the current phase. Such measures, he said, would boost road network sustainability, improve operational performance, and reinforce public safety.
The session was attended by several senior officials, including the Head of the Prime Minister’s Diwan, Abdulaziz Dakhil Al-Dakhil; Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan; and representatives from the Ministry of Interior, the Fatwa and Legislation Department, the Kuwait Ports Authority, the General Administration of Customs, and the Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport.
