In a post today, U.S. President Donald Trump struck a tone of optimism amid escalating regional tensions, declaring, “Congratulations to the world, the time for peace has come.”
His statement followed Iran’s missile strike on the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar — a key U.S. military installation — which Trump downplayed as “a very weak response” to what he described as Washington’s destruction of Iranian nuclear facilities.
Trump, according to Al-Rai daily, expressed appreciation for the advance warning reportedly given by Iran, noting that it allowed the U.S. to avoid casualties. “We thank Iran for the notice, which prevented any loss of life,” he said.
In his message, Trump also extended gratitude to the Amir of Qatar for efforts to deescalate the crisis, saying, “I would like to thank the esteemed Amir of Qatar for all his efforts towards peace in the region.”
Meanwhile, Bahrain announced the reopening of its airspace, signaling a tentative return to stability. However, a U.S. official confirmed that both the White House and the Pentagon remain on high alert due to ongoing threats to American military bases in the region.
