Emergency police arrest over 400 wanted persons; issue 32,000 citations in a week

In a robust show of law enforcement, Kuwait’s Traffic and Operations Sector, through the General Directorate of Emergency Police, carried out 2,016 security operations between June 15 and 21, 2025, leading to the arrest of 307 wanted by law for committing various kinds of offences, including arrest warrants, persons reported absconding, expired residency permits and criminal convictions.
During the same period the security authorities also seized 95 vehicles wanted by the judiciary, reports Al-Jarida daily.
Meanwhile, humanitarian assistance was provided to 612 individuals, 10 public altercations were resolved, and 175 traffic accidents and hit-and-run incidents were solved. Police patrols recorded 6,094 traffic violations, and one vehicle was impounded.
Meanwhile, intensive traffic campaigns led to the issuance of 24,983 additional citations. This led to the impounding of 27 vehicles and four motorcycles, as well as the seizure of 67 vehicles wanted by the judiciary.
The security authorities also detained 17 persons for not carrying identification documents, two found in abnormal condition, and arrested 129 more wanted persons. Street vendors operating illegally were also taken into custody.
The Operations Department of the General Traffic Department responded to 2,861 calls from June 14 to 20, while traffic statistics recorded 1,288 accidents — including 1,087 collisions and 201 accidents involving injuries.
All offenders and seized items were referred to the competent authorities for legal procedures, underscoring Kuwait’s continued commitment to law enforcement and road safety.
