The U.S. Embassy announced that it is closely monitoring media reports about the Israeli airstrikes on Iran, emphasizing that American forces had no role in the operation.
In a statement posted on its official X account, the embassy said there are currently no changes to its operational status.
It advised U.S. citizens to stay informed through the embassy’s website and the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC), and to enroll in the State Department’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) for the latest updates and safety guidance, reports Al-Rai.
U.S. President Donald Trump weighed in, stating that “the time has come to end this situation,” warning that “the next attacks already planned will be even more aggressive.”
He criticized Iran for repeatedly refusing to strike a deal, urging the country to act now “before everything is lost” and to preserve what he referred to as “what was once known as the Iranian Empire.”
In response, Iranian President Masoud Barzeshkian vowed a powerful retaliation, declaring that “our strong response will make Israel regret it.” In a speech on Friday, he called on the Iranian people to trust and support their leadership.
Following the overnight Israeli strikes, the Iranian government convened an emergency meeting, chaired by President Barzeshkian, to assess the situation and coordinate a national response.
