KCC concludes ‘Women’s Talent Hunt’ at Sulaibiya cricket ground
Paving the pathway for future stars, boost national development

Kuwait Cricket (KCC) took a significant step forward in advancing women’s cricket by hosting a successful Women’s Talent Hunt at the Sulaibiya Cricket Ground, drawing participants from diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
The open trials welcomed a wide range of aspiring players — from junior cricketers and school athletes to box cricket enthusiasts and former softball players — all eager to train with the hard ball and pursue the opportunity to represent Kuwait at the national level.
The session was conducted under the guidance of KCC Head Coach and Development Manager Qasim Ali, with support from Assistant Coach Aslam, who also captains the Kuwait Men’s National Team. Their leadership and technical insight offered participants a strong foundation for skill assessment and pathway development.
A key figure at the event was Miss Awatif Al Qallaf, a KCC Board Member whose continuous efforts have played a vital role in promoting women’s participation in cricket, especially among Kuwaiti nationals. Her presence underscored the growing institutional support for women’s sport in the country.
Several players from Kuwait’s Women’s National Team — including captain Amna Sharif Tariq, along with Maryam Omar, Shanthi, Suchita, Bhavani, and Khadija — actively engaged with the participants, offering mentorship and sharing personal stories to inspire the next generation.
This initiative reflects the broader vision of the KCC Board, led by President Mr. Haider Farman and Director General Mr. Sajid Ashraf, who remain committed to grassroots development, talent identification, and promoting gender inclusivity in cricket.
The successful execution of the Women’s Talent Hunt highlights Kuwait Cricket’s growing dedication to nurturing a competitive and inclusive future for women in the sport. As more doors open for aspiring female cricketers, the foundation is being laid for a strong and sustainable women’s cricket program in Kuwait.
