KPC requests transfer of Al-Zour schools for Dorra field project operations

Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) has officially requested the Ministry of Education to transfer the use of two school buildings in Al-Zour—currently utilized by Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC)—to its subsidiary, the Gulf Oil Company (KOSCO), for managing the vital Dorra gas field project.

The request highlights the strategic significance of the Dorra field to Kuwait’s national interests and energy sector, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to existing agreements, the Ministry of Education had granted administrative licenses to KIPIC to use the school buildings for ten years. The Al-Zour Mixed School for Girls has been in use since February 1, 2017, while the Al-Zour Mixed School for Boys was added on April 5, 2018.

KPC now seeks to transfer these rights to Gulf Oil Company to support the operational needs of the Dorra project.
