Kuwait advances digital transformation to support national development goals

Acting Director General of the Central Agency for Information Technology, Najat Ibrahim, said Kuwait is currently undergoing a rapid phase of digital integration, spearheaded by the Ministry of Communications and its affiliated institutions.

This transformation, she said, is a key element in achieving the objectives of the “New Kuwait 2035” vision, aimed at building a comprehensive digital economy and improving the overall quality of life.

Speaking to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) during the opening of the fourth edition of the IT CEO Summit 2025, organized by the Ministry of Information Technology in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Ibrahim emphasized that seamless integration among government entities is a cornerstone for realizing the country’s long-term development goals.

She highlighted the Ministry’s firm commitment—through its affiliated bodies—to advancing the national digital transformation agenda. One of the most significant efforts in this regard is the Central Agency for Information Technology’s (CAIT) leadership in facilitating the shift toward cloud computing, in collaboration with leading global technology firms.

Ibrahim detailed several ongoing initiatives, including the creation of a national digital platform designed to unify and streamline government systems. This platform enables inter-agency data exchange, enhances information security, improves service efficiency, and delivers a better user experience for both citizens and businesses. Additionally, it is seen as a catalyst for public and private sector innovation.

To reinforce these efforts, Ibrahim noted that CAIT has signed strategic agreements and partnerships with international technology leaders to accelerate the implementation of digital infrastructure, ensuring that Kuwait keeps pace with global digital developments.

She underscored that events like the IT CEO Summit play a vital role in coordinating national efforts and opening new horizons for IT professionals and policymakers. These platforms contribute directly to fulfilling the goals of “New Kuwait 2035,” particularly in embedding digital transformation at the heart of sustainable development.
