‘Awkaf’ ensures full utilization of hajj quota amid citizenship-revocation cases

Women with revoked citizenships allowed to travel for Hajj if no bans or restrictions apply

The Ministry of Awkaf and Islamic Affairs has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that no seats allocated to Kuwaiti pilgrims go waste — particularly in cases where female pilgrims with revoked citizenships under Article 8 are unable to travel.

Any resulting vacancies will be filled immediately based on the waiting list maintained through the central Hajj platform.

An informed source at the ministry told Al-Rai that, “The Hajj and Umrah Affairs Department is actively following up with women whose citizenships have been revoked to ensure they meet all the requirements for performing the pilgrimage. Should any of them be unable to travel, the ministry will immediately contact the next eligible candidates.”

The source added that the Kuwaiti Hajj mission has finalized all logistical preparations for its departure to the Holy Land. The first delegation is scheduled to depart on May 20, after completing all necessary arrangements, to begin receiving Kuwaiti pilgrims upon arrival.

The ministry also confirmed that the relevant authorities have granted permission for women whose nationalities were revoked under Article 8 to travel for Hajj this year.
