Sheikh Hamoud Al Mubarak, Moroccan Minister discuss direct flight boost

Chairman of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Sheikh Hamoud Al Mubarak, met with Moroccan Minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdessamad Kayouh, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the air transport sector. The talks aimed to strengthen integration between the two countries and align efforts to serve their mutual interests.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 72nd session of the Executive Council of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO) in Rabat, Morocco.

In a statement to KUNA, Al Mubarak noted that the discussions focused on building common foundations for cooperation, especially in the areas of training and expertise exchange. Both parties agreed on the importance of promoting direct flights between Kuwait and Morocco, a vital route due to high passenger demand.

The officials also emphasized the need to deepen their strategic partnership, particularly through initiatives related to human resource development, aviation safety enhancement, and joint training programs, all within the context of strong fraternal ties between the two nations.

Additionally, Al Mubarak underlined Kuwait’s commitment to bolstering Arab representation in international aviation forums, especially within the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

He reiterated this commitment following the ACAO General Assembly meeting, which endorsed Arab candidates for ICAO Council membership ahead of the upcoming international meeting in Montreal, Canada, this September.

The assembly also expressed its full support for Egypt’s nominee for the ICAO Council presidency, praising his qualifications and affirming confidence in his ability to represent the Arab world effectively on the global aviation stage.
