Kuwait’s thriving tourism sector flourishes amid strategic growth

Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, Minister of Information and Culture, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, emphasized the government’s efforts to promote tourism and the positive feedback it has garnered from both citizens and visitors.

Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi chaired a meeting to review the latest developments and initiatives for upcoming tourism and cultural events, concluding with an agreement to present the implementation plan for approved projects at the next meeting.

The Permanent Committee for Celebrating National Holidays and Occasions held a meeting on Sunday at SeifPalace, chaired by Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, Minister of Information and Culture, Minister of State for Youth Affairs. The meeting focused on reviewing the latest developments and initiatives related to upcoming tourism and cultural events, reported Arabic daily Al Jarida.

In his address, minister Al-Mutairi highlighted Kuwaits recent progress in the tourism sector, emphasizing the government’s efforts to promote tourism and the positive feedback it has garnered from both citizens and visitors.

For his part, Yousef Al-Azmi, Deputy Director General for Development Affairs at Kuwait Municipality, reviewed the private sector’s initiatives for the upcoming months. These include proposals to host tourism and entertainment weeks at The Avenues and Capital Mall complexes, as well as at the Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Center, in collaboration with major telecommunications companies such as STC, Zain, and Tamdeen Company, which owns (360) Mall.

The Monitoring and Evaluation Team at the Kuwait Youth Public Authority presented performance indicators for events, emphasizing the importance of monitoring them via the Hayakum platform to ensure accurate evaluation.

The team also outlined plans to activate summer tourism by encouraging hotels and shopping malls to offer promotions and initiatives, while centralizing their registration and evaluation through the Hayakumplatform. Additionally, the meeting discussed extending the working hours of shopping malls during the summer vacation.

The National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters showcased a visual presentation on the approved theatrical performances in celebration of Kuwait being named the Arab Capital of Culture for 2025. The eighth session of the Arab Children’s Theatre Festival will be inaugurated, featuring the 14 best theatrical works, and preparations for the launch of a summer cultural festival are also underway.

The Tourism Enterprises Company reviewed the B Zeroproject as part of its advanced water cities, announcing the opening of the second phase of the water games project. Additionally, they discussed the strategy for exploiting and investing in popular cafes to strengthen the tourism sector.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to present the implementation plan for the approved projects at the next meeting.
