Kuwait foils drug smuggling attempt worth KD 500,000
Three Iranian nationals were caught attempting to smuggle 125 kilograms of hashish, nine hashish sticks, eight strips of Lyrica, and five bags of Capti pills into the country through territorial waters.

• The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed that the Coast Guard serves as a strong security shield against any attempts to breach Kuwait’s territorial waters or smuggle contraband and emphasized that any attempt to undermine Kuwait’s security will be met with an iron fist.
The Ministry of Interior, through the General Directorate of Coast Guard, announced that it had thwarted an attempt to smuggle narcotics into the country, with an estimated street value of around half a million Kuwaiti dinars, Al Jarida newspaper reported.
The Ministry of Interior’s General Department of Public Relations and Security Media reported that three Iranian nationals were arrested in possession of approximately 125 kilograms of hashish, nine hashish sticks, eight strips of Lyrica, and five bags of Captagon pills while attempting to smuggle them into the country through territorial waters.
The department stated that the security operation was launched after an advanced radar system detected a suspicious vessel and tracked it with high precision. Coast Guard patrols immediately moved to intercept the boat as soon as it entered territorial waters. The authorities swiftly surrounded the vessel and arrested the three Iranian smugglers, seizing the contraband in their possession.
The department further noted that the suspects and the seized items had been referred to the competent authorities for legal action.
