The Criminal Court acquitted former MP Muhannad Al-Sayer of challenging the powers of His Highness the Amir. The Public Prosecution had previously ordered his release on KWD 1,000 bail in a state security case on charges of challenging the powers of His Highness the Emir, broadcasting false news, and misusing his telephone.
