Cold wave and frost expected during Kuwait’s national holidays

Kuwait’s Meteorology Department forecasts that a cold and dry air mass will affect the country due to the extension of a high-pressure system bringing cold air from northeastern Europe.

The Northwesterly winds, moderate to active in speed, especially in coastal areas, will enhance the feeling of cold, with a likelihood of frost in agricultural and desert regions.

Director of the Meteorology Department, Dharar Al-Ali, stated today, Monday 24th February, that the cold wave is expected to peak on Tuesday and Wednesday, with temperatures gradually rising starting Thursday.

Al-Ali added that today’s weather saw a noticeable drop in temperature, remaining cold and partly cloudy, with northwesterly to northerly winds ranging from light to moderate, occasionally active at speeds between 15 and 45 km/h.

There is also a chance of scattered light rain, with expected maximum temperatures ranging between 13 and 16 degrees Celsius. The sea state is light to moderate, with waves occasionally reaching heights of 2 to 6 feet.

Al-Ali explained that tonight’s weather will be cold to very cold, with northwesterly to northerly winds ranging from light to moderate, occasionally becoming active in coastal areas at speeds between 15 and 50 km/h.

There is also a chance of frost in agricultural and desert areas. The expected minimum temperatures will range between 2 and 4 degrees Celsius, while the sea state will be moderate to high, with waves reaching heights of 3 to 6 feet.

Al-Ali stated that Tuesday’s weather will be cool to cold, with northwesterly to northerly winds ranging from light to moderate, occasionally becoming active at speeds between 12 and 50 km/h.

Some scattered clouds are expected, along with a chance of frost in agricultural and desert areas. The expected maximum temperatures will range between 12 and 14 degrees Celsius, while the sea state will be moderate to high, with waves reaching heights of 3 to 6 feet.

Al-Ali stated that tomorrow evening’s weather will be cold to very cold, ranging from partly cloudy to cloudy, with northwesterly to variable winds that are light to moderate, occasionally becoming active at speeds between 8 and 45 km/h.

Al-Ali stated that Wednesday evening will be cold to very cold, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies. Winds will be northwesterly to variable, light to moderate, ranging from 8 to 32 km/h.

There is a chance of frost in agricultural and desert areas, along with a possibility of scattered rain. The expected minimum temperatures will range between 6 and 8 degrees Celsius, while the sea state will be light to moderate, with waves reaching between 1 and 4 feet.
