42 Diplomatic missions join ‘National Celebrations’ on “Diplomatic Day”

The Minister of Information, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, sponsored the “Diplomatic Day” event, organized by the Deanship of the Diplomatic Corps in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the United Nations Humanitarian Care Program (UN-Habitat) in Kuwait, with the presence of Undersecretary Nasser Al-Muhaisen at the Heritage Insurance Day Village, which was held today, Thursday, February 20.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information stated that the Heritage Village, hosted by the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and the Minister of Information in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, featured 42 pavilions and 62 ambassadors. He emphasized that this social event brings together ambassadors, their families, community members, and Kuwaiti citizens.
Moreover, all the embassies with strong public interest in Kuwait were invited to participate in this event, which was held alongside Kuwait’s National Day celebrations and its recognition as the capital of Arab culture and media.
The Undersecretary Al-Muhaisen emphasized that showcasing cultural products highlights Kuwait’s support for such events, adding that embassies’ displays of their heritage foster cultural cooperation, reflecting Kuwait’s rich cultural and civilizational legacy.
The Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Ambassador of Tajikistan Dr. Zubaydullo Zubaydzoda, expressed his pride in celebrating with the Kuwaiti people, emphasizing the significance of the occasion for every Kuwaiti. Speaking before a large audience of dignitaries, he extended his highest regards and blessings to His Highness Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad and His Highness Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid, wishing Kuwait continued progress, prosperity, and well-being.
Furthermore, Mohammed Tutunji stated that this exhibition is a great opportunity to showcase national culture and arts through embassies, with the main goal of bringing people closer together and celebrating diversity among the public.
The exhibition showcased rich culture, including modern artistic handicrafts, popular music, and local traditions, believing that culture serves as the best bridge for communication and understanding among people. They highlighted that such events play a vital role in fostering friendship and mutual appreciation between different communities.
The Head of the UN-Habitat Mission in Kuwait and the Arabian Gulf, Amira Al-Hassan, stated that the Diplomatic Day event serves as a model of cultural diplomacy, fostering dialogue and understanding among nations. She emphasized that it reaffirms Kuwait’s commitment to being a hub for civilizational dialogue and cultural exchange, especially as it prepares to be the Arab Capital of Culture in 2025.
Al Hassan added that at UN-Habitat, they believe that culture and heritage serve as vital bridges between nations, fostering social development by strengthening identity and encouraging communities to preserve their heritage while embracing the experiences and cultures of others.” She emphasized that the participation of numerous embassies reflects cultural diversity and civilizational exchange, aligning with the vision of creating more inclusive and sustainable societies.
Moreover, Al-Hassan continued that the Heritage Village is not just a historical site but a symbol of Kuwait’s deep-rooted love and appreciation for its history. It embodies the memory of the sea, which has shaped the identity of its people and their creative contributions over the ages. This event reaffirms that Kuwait does not merely celebrate its past but actively builds a future of successful international cooperation and joint cultural projects.
