Abeer Al-Awadhi to head Kuwait National Cybersecurity Center
The Council of Ministers appointed Al-Awadhi as chief of the Kuwait National Cybersecurity Center for a four-year term, with the possibility of one renewal.

The Council of Ministers appointed Abeer Anwar Abdullah Al-Awadhi as the head of the Kuwait National Cybersecurity Center for a renewable four-year term, according to Al Qabas newspaper.
As per the decision, “Council of Ministers Resolution No. 166 of 2025 appoints the head of the Kuwait National Cybersecurity Center. This decision was made after reviewing the Constitution, the Amiri Order issued on 2 Dhu al-Qa’da 1445 AH (corresponding to May 10, 2024 AD), Decree Law No. 15 of 1979 on civil service and its amendments, the decree issued on 7 Jumada I, 1399 AH (corresponding to April 4, 1979 AD) regarding the civil service system, and its subsequent amendments.
It also references Decree No. 37 of 2022 establishing the National Cybersecurity Center, amended by Decree No. 182 of 2023, and Council of Ministers Resolution No. 117 of 2022, which determined the minister overseeing the National Cybersecurity Center, along with Decree No. 84 of 2024 regarding ministerial solutions and seniorities and its amendments.
Based on the presentation by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, the first article of this resolution appoints Abeer Anwar Abdullah Al-Awadhi as head of the Kuwait National Cybersecurity Center for a period of four years, renewable for one term.
The Minister of Interior shall implement this decision, which will take effect from the date of its issuance and be published in the Official Gazette.
