UN-Habitat’s Sports, Environment Day unites diplomats for a greener Kuwait
The United Nations Human Settlements Program for the Arabian Gulf and Kuwait, in partnership with the Deanship of the Diplomatic Corps and Kuwait Oil Company, hosted the Sports and Environmental Day in Al-Ahmadi City as part of the seventh Kuwait Tazracampaign edition.

• Dr. Ameera Al-Hassan, head of the UN-Habitat Mission to Kuwait, highlighted the event at Al-Ahmadi Oasis, coinciding with national celebrations, where diplomats, officials, and volunteers planted fungal trees to combat desertification and participated in sports activities.
The United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat) for the Arabian Gulf and Kuwait, in collaboration with the Deanship of the Diplomatic Corps and Kuwait Oil Company, organized the Sports and Environmental Day in Al-Ahmadi City as part of the seventh edition of the “Kuwait Tazra” campaign.
The event is held under the auspices of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, with the presence of Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Asian Affairs, Ambassador Sameeh JoharHayat, and the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Kuwait, Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Zubaydullo Zubaydozoda.
Dr. Ameera Al-Hassan, head of the UN-Habitat Mission to Kuwait, stated, “This event, held at Al-Ahmadi Oasis of the Kuwait Oil Company, coincides with the celebration of the country’s national holidays,” emphasizing their commitment to supporting environmental efforts and achieving sustainable development goals.
Al-Hassan added that participants, including diplomatic missions, officials, and volunteers, planted local fungal trees to enrich green spaces and combat desertification, in addition to engaging in various sports activities.
For his part, the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Ambassador of Tajikistan to Kuwait, His Excellency Zubaydullo Zubaydozoda, expressed pride in the diplomatic community’s participation in these national environmental initiatives.
