IMA-Ladies Wing wraps up month-long Qur’an campaign
The initiative sought to foster a society rooted in the noble characteristics of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), as outlined in the Holy Qur’an.

• The primary objective of the Qur’an campaign was aimed to rekindle the Ummah’s spiritual connection by promoting recitation, understanding, and application of its teachings, with a special focus on Tajweed for proper pronunciation and deeper comprehension.
The Indian Muslim Association-Ladies Wing, a branch of IMA Kuwait, successfully conducted a month-long Qur’an campaign from December 26, 2024, to January 24, 2025, under the central theme “The Character of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was the Qur’an”.
Inspired by the profound Hadith narrated by Ummul Momineen Ayesha (RA), in which she described the character of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as a living embodiment of the Qur’an, the IMA-Ladies Wing aimed to inspire individuals and communities throughout the campaign to align their lives with Quranic morals and values. The initiative sought to foster a society rooted in the noble characteristics of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), as outlined in the Holy Qur’an.
The primary objective of the campaign was to revive the spiritual connection of the Muslim Ummah with the teachings of the Qur’an. It emphasized not only its recitation but also the importance of understanding its meaning and applying its wisdom in daily life. Special focus was placed on learning the Qur’an with Tajweed, ensuring both proper pronunciation and deeper comprehension.
Throughout the campaign, members of the Ladies Wing organized neighborhood gatherings and conducted door-to-door visits in their respective areas, sharing the essence of Quranic teachings. This initiative was a heartfelt effort to rekindle love for the Qur’an, encouraging individuals to embrace its guidance as a way of life and a source of light in their daily conduct.
Booklets, pamphlets, and stickers featuring Quranic reminders were distributed during the campaign. Additionally, video clips of children were released on social media throughout the month under the theme “The Man Desired by the Qur’an.”
The campaign was not only designed for the public but also aimed to enhance the ethical values of IMA members, encouraging them to fulfill their responsibilities toward community development with even greater dedication. To strengthen this aspect, the IMA-Ladies Wing invited a renowned scholar from India, Dr. Mubashera Firdos Khan (Alima & Ph.D. in Child Psychology), to revive the teachings of the Qur’an and Hadith.
She delivered insightful lectures on parenting, the role of women in Islam, and the importance of community service, reminding attendees of their responsibilities in nurturing the Ummah.
A Teachers’ Meet was also organized with teachers of Qur’an Tafseer, Tajweed, Seerah, and Hadith from various organizations in Kuwait, such as IPC, IEC, ICK, and others. Dr. Mubashera Firdos Khan addressed the teachers and reminded them of their responsibilities toward the community. Nearly 25-30 teachers attended the session.
Various competitions were held during the campaign, including the Qur’an Hifz Competition, Essay Writing Competition, Calligraphy Competition, Quiz Competitions, and an Exhibition on Models, Charts, and Qur’an Journaling. The campaign concluded with a prize distribution ceremony at Masjid Al-Kabeer, honoring winners and runners-up in each competition.
The Qur’an Hifz Competition was organized for both women and girls aged 11 to 23 years and was conducted in three different areas of Kuwait: Jaleeb Al-Shoyoukh, Salmiya, and Mangaf. Nearly 34 women and 32 girls participated in the competition. The winners were honored with trophies and certificates.
Additionally, an Essay Writing Competition was organized in English, Roman Urdu, and Urdu on the topic “The Man Desired by the Qur’an.”
A calligraphy competition was organized for girls and women, where participants showcased their artistic talent and creativity in Quranic calligraphy. The judges faced a challenging task in selecting the winners due to the exceptional quality of the entries.
A Qur’an Quiz was also conducted at various locations across Kuwait, with winners of the preliminary rounds advancing to the final quiz round on the concluding day of the Qur’an Campaign at Masjid Al-Kabeer. Both participants and the audience appreciated the initiative, which aimed to revive interest in the Qur’an through engaging competitions.
On the final day, “A Quranic Exhibition” was organized by the “Pearls of Islam” team, a youth wing for girls operating under the patronage of IMA-Ladies Wing. The exhibition featured models, charts, and Quranic journaling posters based on different aspects of the Qur’an and selected Surahs.
The Concluding Program of the campaign was held at Masjid Al-Kabeer on January 24, 2025. The event began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, followed by speeches from guest speakers Mrs. Ameena Tamimi, a Kuwaiti Da’iyyah from the Foreign Relations Department at Awqaf, and Mrs. Sameena Malik, an Indian businesswoman.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Mubashera Firdos Khan, who gave a thought-provoking speech on “The Qur’an—The Path of Salvation for Humanity.”
The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks from one of the executive members, marking the successful end of the event, which saw an attendance of 180–200 women and children.
The final day’s proceedings were also broadcast on KTV-2, where the initiative received appreciation.
