January shatters records with exceptional global temperatures

The average global temperature in January was 1.75 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels.

Last January was the hottest on record, European Union (EU) researchers said on Thursday, marking another extreme temperature milestone, Al Rai reported.

The European Union’s Copernicus Climate Change Service stated in its monthly report that January continued a streak of exceptional temperatures, with 18 of the last 19 months recording an average global temperature more than 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels.
