Kuwait prioritizes volunteer work for national growth, development
Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi said that “youth are the cornerstone of change and development and we must direct their immense and diverse capabilities in the right direction, ensuring their active participation in building and advancing their societies.”

• Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, the Minister of Information and Culture, stated, “Kuwait places great emphasis on youth issues and sustainable development, and we believe that our role as ministers of youth and sports goes beyond promoting sports and physical activity; it extends to empowering youth at all levels.”
Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, the Minister of Information, Culture, and State Minister for Kuwaiti Youth Affairs, emphasized the importance of harnessing the energy and potential of young people to build and develop their societies, as reported by Al Qabas newspaper.
Minister Al-Mutairi, in his speech at the 48th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports in Baghdad, stated, that “The State of Kuwait places great emphasis on youth issues and sustainable development. We believe that our role as ministers of youth and sports goes beyond promoting sports and physical activity; it extends to empowering youth at all levels.”
He added, “From this perspective, I believe our meeting today offers an opportunity to discuss crucial issues related to the future of Arab youth.”
He emphasized that “the rapid developments and challenges facing our Arab nations require us, as those responsible for emerging sectors and youth, to work diligently to raise awareness about the importance of this vital sector.”
He further stated, “Youth, who represent two-thirds of the Arab world’s population, are the cornerstone of change and development. We must direct their immense and diverse capabilities in the right direction, ensuring their active participation in building and advancing their societies.”
He stressed that “the development of volunteer work is a top priority in the State of Kuwait due to its national and developmental significance.”
Encouraging young people to be creative
He added, “We must adopt policies and programs that enhance the value of Arab volunteer work as a noble contribution to building societies,” noting that “encouraging young people to be creative and actively engage in development boosts the economic capabilities of our countries, leveraging the soft power of volunteer work and its substantial economic impact.”
The minister also proposed “developing a unified system for Arab youth work that improves the performance of volunteers and their initiatives, strengthening the foundations for advancing this work at the Arab level to achieve tangible results for our countries.”
He pointed out the need to “focus on developing means that encourage young people to engage in activities related to the knowledge and creative economies, which are key drivers of development, as well as enhancing youth participation in the green economy to support our shared commitment to environmental and sustainability issues.”
Supporting the Palestinian cause
The minister reaffirmed the unwavering stance of the State of Kuwait’s leadership, government, and people in supporting the Palestinian cause at both the regional and international levels, ensuring that the Palestinian people achieve their full rights under an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international resolutions, particularly those of the United Nations Security Council.
