Drugs, alcohol and weapons seized from 23 people

The Ministry of Interior announced that personnel from the Narcotics Control Department have arrested 23 people in 19 cases and seized from them approximately 27 kilograms of drugs — 24,000 psychotropic pills, 192 bottles of alcohol, 25 marijuana seedlings, firearms, and sums of money believed to be proceeds from the sale.

The Public Relations and Security Media Department of the Directorate-General of Drugs Control said that when the defendants were confronted with what was seized from them, they admitted to owning these drugs for the purpose of trafficking and abuse, following which the suspects and the seized items were handed over to the concerned authority, reports Al-Rai daily.

The Interior Ministry has called on everyone to cooperate with security personnel and report any negative phenomena on the emergency phone 112 and the DGFD hotline 1884141.
