Renowned singers Trishna Gurung and Himal Sagar, and poet ‘Faqeer’ are set to perform at the Nirem Musical Festival organized by, Nirem Productions and main sponsor being BEC Exchange. The event will take place on 21 February, 2025 at Aspire School, Jleeb, Kuwait, where these talented veterans will showcase their skills.
The primary focus of Nirem Musical Festival is to bridge Nepali music, art, and literature with the Nepali labor community in Kuwait. Singer Trishna Gurung will showcase a range of musical performances, while renowned singer Himal Sagar will enchant the audience with his timeless classic songs.
Poet and journalist Suresh Budhathoki, known as ‘Faqeer,’ will also present heartfelt poems and ghazals reflecting the migrant experience, as shared by the event organizers.
Trishna Gurung, known for her popular tracks like Gaine Daijai Le, Maya Pirati, Khani Ho Yamunai, and others, will light up the stage at the festival. Himal Sagar, who became a sensation in 2010, will captivate the youth with his beloved hits like Na Maile Lekhe, Mero Maya Marepachi, and Ae Ho Ra Maya. This year’s festival will also feature a unique segment with poet and writer Faqeer reciting poems and ghazals that highlight the migrant experience, as revealed by Surendra Limbu, coordinator of the Nirem Musical Festival 2025.
The event is expected to attract over a thousand Nepali music and literature enthusiasts. Coordinator Limbu has urged attendees to enjoy the program in a respectful and civilized manner, emphasizing the importance of refraining from consuming alcoholic beverages and other substances prohibited by Kuwaiti law.
Nirem, recognized for its contributions to blood donation, social work, worker assistance, sports, and media, is organizing this musical festival in celebration of the local Hala February festival and Valentine’s Day.
Sponsored by BEC Exchange, the event has Jazeera Airways as its airline partner and Dampa Chautari Restaurant as its hospitality partner.
