The Article (8) Affairs Office stated in a press release to KUNA today, Thursday, 16th January, that since its establishment on January 6, it has received thousands of calls, and 1,778 inquiry forms from foreign wives of Kuwaitis regarding the necessary procedures. The office clarified that it serves as a “link” between foreign wives of Kuwaitis, as per Article (80), whose Kuwaiti nationalities have been withdrawn and relevant government agencies.

Moreover, the office emphasized that these agencies have utilized all available resources to support this group, in accordance with Decree Law No. 158 of 2024, which amended Article (16) of Amiri Decree No. 15 of 1959 on the Kuwaiti Nationality Law. This amendment allows, by a decision of the Council of Ministers, the retention of certain rights and benefits for this category, as deemed necessary for the public interest.

Furthermore, the decision will outline the specific rights, benefits, and the conditions under which they can be retained, ensuring that all cases guarantee access to healthcare, education, and a dignified life.
