Kuwait to take legal action against associations failing to submit reports
Non-compliant parties face escalating sanctions, starting with warnings, followed by suspension of procedures, and potentially leading to dissolution if they continue violating rules and ignore the ministry’s correction requests.
• The Social Welfare Sector conducted a four-minute mock evacuation at the Farah Specialist Center for the Elderly, with Civil Defense, ambulance, and other agencies training staff and residents for emergency response.
Dr. Khaled Al-Ajmi, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs, announced that under the direct guidance of Minister Dr. Amthal Al Huwailah, the ministry will take legal action against any civil, charitable, or cooperative association that fails to submit its financial and administrative reports on time, according to Al Jarida newspaper.
Al-Ajmi explained to the newspaper that there are gradual sanctions against non-compliant parties, starting with warnings to avoid violations and amend their situation, progressing to the suspension of their procedures and transactions, and ultimately leading to dissolution if they persist in violating the rules and fail to respond to the ministry’s repeated calls for correction.
He stressed that the ministry remains open to cooperation with all the authorities under its purview and does not seek to be an enforcer, but rather aims to guide these authorities, established for public service, towards the optimal application of the law.
Fake evacuation exercise
Additionally, as part of the ministry’s commitment to promoting public safety standards, the Social Welfare Sector conducted a mock evacuation exercise at the Farah Specialist Center for the Care of the Elderly, located in the Social Welfare Houses Complex.
The Assistant Undersecretary for Sector Affairs, Dr. Jassim Al-Kandari, explained, “This exercise aims to test the building’s readiness and the efficiency of response teams in handling emergencies, in coordination with the Civil Defense Department and other relevant authorities.”
He noted that multiple parties participated in the exercise, including teams from Civil Defense, ambulance services, and other concerned authorities, along with the building’s employees who demonstrated great readiness in implementing the evacuation plan. The exercise, which took about four minutes, involved training workers and residents to respond quickly in crises.
Dr. Al-Kandari emphasized the importance of such exercises in raising awareness about safety and ensuring a secure environment for the elderly. He added that the goal of the exercise was to evaluate the efficiency of the emergency plans, address any challenges faced by the response teams, and ensure the protection of all residents and staff in case of an emergency.
He thanked all involved parties for their efforts and stressed the importance of ongoing cooperation to achieve the highest safety standards.
