Kazakhstan offers Kuwaiti citizens visa-free travel for 30 days

His Excellency Azamat Berdybay, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Kuwait, highlighted in an interview with Al Rai newspaper that the ancient Great Silk Road, which traversed modern-day Kazakhstan, served not only as a trade route but also as a cultural bridge uniting the peoples of Asia and the Middle East.
During a conference with Kuwaiti travel agencies at the Regency Hotel, Ambassador Berdybay stated, “Kazakhstan and Kuwait, despite their geographical distance, are united by shared values of hospitality, mutual respect for traditions, and a desire for innovation.”
He emphasized that “according to the National Statistics Bureau, the number of tourists who visited Kazakhstan in 2023 exceeded 6.2 million, indicating a significant increase in international interest in our country and its growing appeal as a tourist destination.”
He also highlighted that Kazakhstan improved its position in the World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Index for Travel and Tourism, rising from 80th to 66th place out of 117 countries.
The ambassador noted “the growing interest of tourists from Gulf countries year by year. In 2024, Kazakhstan welcomed 14,213 tourists from Oman, 11,042 from the United Arab Emirates, 8,094 from Saudi Arabia, 3,795 from Kuwait, 1,626 from Bahrain, and 1,310 from Qatar.”
He added that “direct flights between Kuwait and Almaty, operated by Jazeera Airways, make travel fast and convenient, enabling thousands of Kuwaiti citizens to visit Kazakhstan.”
Visa exemption for over 80 countries
He emphasized, “Kazakhstan is proud to offer a visa exemption system to citizens of over 80 countries, including Kuwait. This system allows Kuwaiti citizens to stay in our country for up to 30 days.” To further enhance the experience for visitors, he highlighted the establishment of a dedicated tourism portal, Kazakhstan.travel.
The ambassador explained that the portal provides up-to-date information about Kazakhstan, detailing its natural attractions, entertainment options, restaurants, and hotels. He pointed out that Kazakhstan boasts 13 national parks and ten nature reserves, which are integral parts of the world’s natural heritage.
