The Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy has introduced a smart fingerprint application for smartphones to support employees working in external locations. This initiative is a key component of the comprehensive fingerprint project launched in August 2021. The application is part of the ministry’s efforts to develop and modernize the fingerprint system and related devices, according to Al Rai newspaper.
Sources within the ministry stated that “the development of the application took two full months of programming, testing, and refinement. It underwent practical trials with a selected group of users to ensure its efficiency before its official launch.” They highlighted that the application was designed to meet the latest technical standards and cater to the needs of workers in critical locations.
The sources added, “The technical staff of the fingerprint system team is currently stationed at the West Doha Station to activate the application on-site. The team is introducing workers to the application and programming the system to ensure smooth operation while providing a seamless experience that facilitates daily tasks.”
They further noted that the application offers several features, including “high security, with advanced security measures that are regularly updated by the fingerprint team and developers to ensure data protection.” They explained that “the rollout of the application to all ministry employees will occur in stages.”
Sources added, “One of the application’s key advantages is its integration with the fingerprint system. It is directly linked to central devices and systems, enabling accurate and fast information management. Additionally, it serves as a portal to access important sites, manage ministerial mail and email, and monitor attendance and departure through a carefully designed interface. It also includes fingerprint reminder notifications to enhance commitment.”
They explained that the application is part of ongoing efforts to develop the fingerprint project, which was launched in 2021, and includes updating devices and systems to align with technical advancements and improve administrative efficiency.
They expressed satisfaction with the positive reception of the application among ministry employees, who praised its ease of use and accuracy in managing daily operations. They emphasized that the launch reflects the ministry’s commitment to advancing the digital work environment and achieving comprehensive technical transformation.
