‘Criminal Court’ sentences 3 tweeters to 2 years imprisonment with hard labor

The Criminal Courts issued two rulings, imprisoning three tweeters with hard labor in state security cases, “on charges of challenging the rights of His Highness the Emir, broadcasting false news, and misusing the phone.”

In the first case, the court sentenced two tweeters to two years in prison on charges for ‘publishing false news about secret files and claiming that they were related to naturalization’.

The Court also sentenced a third tweeter to the same period of imprisonment for two years, on charges of challenging the rights of His Highness the Emir and defaming the Emir.

In a significant declaration, the Court decided to confiscate the mobile phones used in the tweets from the defendants in the two rulings issued against them.
