Kuwait to enhance its oil production
To reinforce its status as a reliable oil-producing country in the global market, Kuwait develops the Mataraba oil field.
Through a reliable source, Al-Qabas learned that Kuwait is in the process of developing the Mataraba field, which was discovered in 2009, as its production is expected to exceed a staggering thirty thousand barrels per day.
Furthermore, the source also revealed that the Higher Purchasing Committee of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation approved the project proposal and the invitation of 4 international companies to develop the Mitribah field northwest of the country. This will undoubtedly enhance Kuwait’s oil and gas reserves and more importantly, raise Kuwait’s status as a reliable oil-producing country in global markets.
Interestingly, the Kuwait Oil Company has successfully completed the 3D seismic survey project in the West Kuwait field area. It has also successfully completed the 3D seismic survey project in the Mataraba area during the fiscal year 2023-24, which is over an area of 1275 and 1414 square kilometers, respectively.
Adding more significance to this, the source mentioned that these projects aim to explore and develop fields in these areas, which is in line with the company’s strategy.
Moreover, the source also said that a four-dimensional seismic survey project in the Manaqish field over an area of 110 square kilometers is implemented successfully. This is being done with a clear focus to monitor the changes that are occurring in the geological reservoirs in the surrounding area.
