‘Humanitarian Kuwait’ competition crowns 60 winners in ninth edition
The competition marks the 10th anniversary of the UN’s recognition of the late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as a leader in humanitarian work and Kuwait as a global humanitarian hub.

His Highness Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Award announced on Sunday the winners of the ninth edition of the cultural awareness competition “Humanitarian Kuwait”, with sixty male and female participants claiming victory.
The competition, titled “Humanitarian Kuwait”, was launched on September 9 in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the United Nations’ historic recognition of the late Amir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, as a leader of humanitarian work, and Kuwait as a global center for humanitarian efforts, Al Rai newspaper reported.
Eng. Bassam Al-Shammari, Member of the Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the award, stated that the competition was launched on social media platforms ‘X’, Instagram, and Facebook, targeting various social groups in different countries to highlight the humanitarian contributions that earned Kuwait this unprecedented global recognition.
He added that the competition lasted for only ten days, during which five questions were asked—one every two days. Over 21,000 participants took part, but only sixty winners were selected from ten Arab countries, which are Kuwait, Yemen, Egypt, Algeria, Sudan, Palestine, Jordan, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
For his part, Rajab Al-Aloush, member of the Board of Trustees and the Higher Organizing Committee, stated that the competition highlighted Kuwait’s journey in humanitarian work and was met with great success and wide participation from various Arab countries. He congratulated the winners, noting that the competition has become a distinctive milestone in the history of the award.
He added that the competition’s themes varied throughout its previous eight editions. The first edition, launched in 2010, was titled ‘National and Information Culture’, followed by ‘Religious and Information Culture’ in 2011, ‘Information Culture’ in 2012, ‘Information Security’ in 2013, and ‘Kuwait Humanity’ in 2015.
He further explained that the sixth edition was hosted at the award pavilion during the 43rd Kuwait International Book Fair in 2018 under the title ‘Artificial Intelligence’, followed by the 2019 edition themed ‘Technical Transformations in Education.’ The eighth edition, held in 2021, focused on ‘Your Health’ as part of this cultural and awareness-raising technical competition.
He stated that throughout its journey, the competition has provided valuable and extensive information across various awareness-raising paths, along with encouraging material prizes. It continues to aim at further spreading culture and knowledge, striving to build individuals with a strong scientific foundation, enabling them to contribute to the development of society’s civilization.
