The General Authority for Agriculture and Fisheries Affairs is exploring recreational projects in Abdali and Kabd, with equal areas designated for rapid development in tourism and recreation.

The authority will explore the possibility of involving the private sector, public benefit associations, and entrepreneurs to help achieve the goals of Al-WafraPark.

The General Authority for Agriculture and Fisheries Affairs announced the launch of a consultative study for the Al-Wafra Entertainment Park project, according to Al Jarida newspaper.

A source told the newspaper that the authority is awaiting proposals to develop a comprehensive plan for Al-WafraPark, which will cover an area of about one million square meters.

The source noted that the authority is also considering introducing similar recreational projects in the agricultural areas of Abdali and Kabd, with equal-sized areas proposed for recreational and tourism investment, based on recommendations aimed at completing these projects as soon as possible.

The source added that the authority has outlined the park’s uses, which will include fish lakes, animal farms, various agricultural activities, covered botanical gardens, horse stables, sports stadiums, residential cabins, swimming pools and lakes, and water activities.

The source further said that the activities will also include cinemas, a covered play area, a rock climbing center, a bowling lounge, bird sanctuaries, cultural centers, free-sliding sports, restaurants and cafeterias, open-air theaters, a moving train, and retail shops.

The source noted that the advisory study will provide a unified vision for the parks, based on the insights of relevant authorities, and establish the necessary timelines for each stage of the executive plan, up to completion. It will also explore the possibility of involving the private sector, public benefit associations, and entrepreneurs to help achieve the parks’ goals.

The source added that the authority is coordinating with all relevant state entities to enhance the infrastructure, including road paving, parking lots, and securing electricity, water, sanitation, communication and internet networks, as well as municipal cleaning services.

The source also pointed out that the authority has asked partnerships and consulting firms interested in preparing the study for Al-Wafra Park to visit the Finance Department’s Tenders Section in the authority’s Al-Rabiabuilding to obtain the project documents.
