The Central Agency for Public Tenders has rejected the first time extension of the contract for the construction, completion, and maintenance for Airport Terminal Project Package No. 2.
The Central Agency for Public Tenders is intensifying its efforts to expedite the resolution of issues faced by government agencies and to boost completion rates, according to a report by Al Rai newspaper.
The agency requested government agencies to provide it with important and urgent issues that carry the highest priority, to speed up the documentary cycle and take the necessary measures in this regard. This is within the framework of implementing the directives of His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister, on the necessity of accelerating efforts and advancing the interests of the nation and its citizens.
Since its formation, the board of directors of the agency has been holding intensive meetings to consider the issues and requests of ministries and government agencies and to decide on them without delay.
On the other hand, the State Audit Bureau expressed its disagreement with awarding the tender for the construction, completion, furnishing, and maintenance of the third package in the new passenger terminal at Kuwait Airport at the fifth lowest price.
Informed sources told Al Rai newspaper that “the Ministry of Public Works received an official letter from the bureau in which it stated that after studying the papers on the matter, it still adhered to its previous opinion of disapproval.”
The sources stated that “the bureau’s refusal to award this tender is not the first, as the bureau had previously refused to award it on February 4 for several reasons.”
In a related context, the board of directors of the Central Agency for Public Tenders decided not to approve the request for the first time extension of the contract for the construction, completion, and maintenance of Package No. 2 of the new passenger terminal in the airport project.
