Minister unveils traveler clinics and interactive map for travelers

The clinics offer health services, guidance, and information about necessary vaccinations for travel to various destinations

  • The Ministry of Health has introduced an interactive map for travelers, a novel digital service accessible to citizens via phone. This tool allows individuals to choose their destination country and access pertinent instructions, advice, and emergency contact information.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, Minister of Health has inaugurated travelers’ health clinics and an interactive travel map, the Al Rai newspaper reported.

During his visit to the Al-Raqi Health Center, Dr. Al-Awadhi announced the opening of six travelers’ health clinics spread across all governorates of the country.

These clinics offer health services, guidance, and information about necessary vaccinations for travel to various destinations. Dr. Al-Awadhi encouraged citizens to visit these clinics to make use of their services.

In the same context, minister Al-Awadhi announced the launch of the interactive map for travelers, a new digital service provided by the Ministry of Health to citizens. They can access it via phone to select the country they intend to travel to and receive instructions, advice, and emergency numbers relevant to that country.

He emphasized that as part of the completion of the 100-day plan, the ministry is focusing on three key areas. The first track involves digital health and transitioning from a paper-based system to an electronic system to ease the burden on citizens. The second track focuses on the continued opening of health facilities such as dispensaries, hospitals, and specialized centers. Minister Al-Awadhi mentioned the recent opening of the Kidney Transplant and Dialysis Center, Al-Mutlaa Health Center, and other upcoming facilities.

Al-Awadhi also indicated that the third track relates to the public health of citizens and enhancing individual and family health, which is integral to societal well-being. He emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to bringing services closer to citizens, facilitating access to them, and achieving these goals through a well-planned and thoughtful program within a specified timeframe.

Furthermore, Adel Al-Rashidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Digital Health Affairs, highlighted that the Traveler Clinic caters to Kuwaiti citizens planning to travel abroad. He mentioned that citizens can use the interactive map to access information about health challenges in their destination country, required vaccinations, emergency contact numbers, and even schedule appointments online with specialist doctors at the Traveler Clinic.

For his part, the head of the Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine in the Farwaniya Health District emphasized the importance of visiting the traveler’s clinic at least four weeks before the travel date.

He noted that this initiative is part of the ministry’s program within the 100-day plan. Citizens can make appointments to visit the clinic electronically, and he mentioned that the clinics are distributed across all governorates of the country.
