Ministry invites 18 tenders to alleviate traffic congestion, upgrade drainage networks

The tenders also cover infrastructure development in various areas of Kuwait and the operation, management, and maintenance of the Sheikh Jaber Bridge.

  • The plan of the Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport includes the launch of five projects related to developing and modernizing sewage networks and rainwater drainage systems.

The Ministry of Public Works announced the completion of the annual plan for the Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport projects for the fiscal year 2024/2025.

This plan includes the issuance of eighteen tenders and practices, primarily focused on addressing traffic congestion in various regions of Kuwait and improving the performance of rainwater drainage networks to prevent water accumulation.

Additionally, it includes infrastructure development practices in some areas of Kuwait and a tender for the operation, management, and maintenance of the Sheikh Jaber Bridge.

The Ministry of Public Works’ plan for the authority’s projects includes seven initiatives to relieve traffic congestion and facilitate the movement of vehicles at specific sites. These projects are as follows:

  • A tender for constructing, completing, and maintaining a road linking the existing part of the Seventh Ring Road with the southern part of the regional road.
  • Tender for supervision of a contract for the construction, completion, and maintenance of a road linking the Al-Qaim parts of the Seventh Ring Road with the southern part of the regional road.
  • Tender for the construction, completion, and maintenance of roads and services for part of Kabd Sulaibiya Road, including part of Kabd Sulaibiya Industrial Road.
  • Tender for supervision of a contract for the construction, completion, and maintenance of roads and services for part of Kabd Sulaibiya Road, including part of Kabd Sulaibiya Industrial Road.
  • Tender for the construction and completion of roads, intersections, highway bridges, pedestrian bridges, and other services for the development of the Third Ring Road from Abdullah Al-Khalaf Street to Cairo Street, including the development of two parts of Damascus Street.
  • Tender for supervision of a contract for the construction and completion of roads, intersections, road bridges, pedestrian bridges, and other services for the development of the Third Ring Road.
  • Carrying out the implementation of the entrances and exits of the Jaber Al-Hamad Residential City.

The authority’s plan also includes the launch of five projects related to developing and modernizing sewage networks and rainwater drainage systems, as follows:

  • A tender for the establishment, completion, and maintenance of rainwater drainage tanks to improve the existing network in various areas of Kuwait.
  • A tender for the supervision of the construction, completion, and maintenance of rainwater tanks in various areas of Kuwait.
  • Tender for the establishment, completion, and maintenance of rainwater drainage systems for the areas of Sabah Al-Ahmad, South Sabah Al-Ahmad, Al-Khiran Residential, and Al-Wafra Residential.
  • Tender for supervision of the contract for the construction, completion, and maintenance of the airport water drainage system for the areas of Sabah Al-Ahmad, South Sabah Al-Ahmad, Al-Khairan Residential, and Al-Wafra Residential.
  • Tender for the implementation and maintenance of a delaying rainwater tank in the Sabah Al-Nasser region.

The announcement also included five practices to develop infrastructure in various areas of Kuwait, aiming to improve the performance of the drainage network and facilitate traffic movement. These are as follows:

  • Practicing the construction, completion, and maintenance of roads, sanitary sewers, and other services in the East Sulaibikhat region.
  • Practicing the construction, completion, and maintenance of roads and other services in Plot No. 4 in the Sabah Al-Salem region.
  • Practicing the establishment, completion, and maintenance of infrastructure in the exhibition area south of Khaitan.
  • Practicing the construction, completion, and maintenance of roads and infrastructure services in Plot No. 6.
  • The practice of completing, constructing, and maintaining roads and other services for the roads surrounding four private universities in the Abu Halifa area.

The announcement also included a tender for the management, operation, and maintenance of Sheikh Jaber Bridge.
