Bid opening for smart water devices pushed to June 23

The Customer Affairs Sector intends to upgrade the current system in 26 water filling stations with a modern one aligned with technological advancements.

  • Water filling stations generated six million dinars in revenue in 2023, serving as strategic alternatives during emergencies and network water outages during maintenance across all regions.

The Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy announced the successful completion of power supply to all stations in the Khaitan Residential Project. It emphasized its readiness to process requests for power connections to all project plots following the operationalization of all project stations.

On the other hand, the Central Agency for Public Tenders has decided to postpone the opening date for bids for the supply, installation, and maintenance of smart water filling card devices, along with providing surveillance cameras for the 26 water filling stations until June 23.

Informed sources at the ministry explained that the Customer Affairs Sector aims, through the mentioned tender, to replace the current system operating in 26 filling stations with a modern one that keeps pace with technological advancements.

A digital technology system will be installed, facilitating water consumption through a specific application that will enhance safety and revenue rates while reducing water wastage during filling operations.

The sources mentioned that the sector is currently offering the tender through the Central Agency for Public Tenders. If the tender bids are opened on the specified date, the bids submitted by companies will be studied to prepare the technical recommendation. Then, the decision for awarding the contract will be made by the agency, followed by the implementation of the agreed-upon work.

Before launching the tender, coordination occurred between the customer service sectors and the water projects sector, which participated in preparing the tender documents. This ensures compatibility and integration of the tenders with the system to be installed, preventing malfunctions that could affect work progress.

Water filling stations generated revenues of approximately six million dinars in 2023. These stations serve as a strategic alternative during emergencies and water outages from the network during maintenance operations across all regions, including border and agricultural areas.
