Amiri Decree postpones parliament session until May 14th

His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of Kuwait, issued an Amiri Decree on Monday postponing the first regular session of the 18th legislative term of the National Assembly until Tuesday, May 14th, 2024.

The decision comes in accordance with Article 106 of the Constitution and in line with the Amiri Decree No. 61 of 2024 convening the National Assembly for the first regular session of the 18th legislative term.

The Amiri Decree reads as follows:

Amiri Decree No. (67) of 2024 postponing the convening of the National Assembly

After reviewing Article 106 of the Constitution, and Law No. 12 of 1963 on the Internal Rules of the National Assembly and its amendments, and Amiri Decree No. 61 of 2024 convening the National Assembly for the first regular session of the 18th legislative term; on the proposal of the Prime Minister and with the approval of the Council of Ministers,

We have decreed as follows:

Article 1:
The convening of the National Assembly for the first regular session of the 18th legislative term is postponed until Tuesday morning, May 14th, 2024.

Article 2:
The relevant authorities shall, each within their jurisdiction, implement this decree, which shall come into force from the date of its issuance, be communicated to the National Assembly, and be published in the Official Gazette.
