Kuwait Municipality removes 448 violating election advertisements

The violations varied between advertisements without a license and those placed outside the headquarters for the 2024 National Assembly elections.

The Public Relations Department of Kuwait Municipality stated that municipal branches in the governorates will conduct field trips to remove violating advertisements during the 2024 National Assembly elections.

It confirmed the continuation of field visits carried out by inspectors in the audit departments, who will follow up on municipal services throughout the election period.

Inspectors from the Audit and Services Follow-up Department in the Al-Ahmadi Municipality Governorate conducted an inspection tour to enforce the law’s provisions. They removed advertisements for candidates violating regulations on roads outside electoral headquarters and in residential streets. They also removed unauthorized and random advertisements from streets and squares.

It was indicated that the tours resulted in the removal of 448 violating election advertisements and the issuance of 23 warnings. These violations varied between advertisements without a license and those placed outside the headquarters for the 2024 National Assembly elections.

Inspectors emphasized that they will continue their field tours to monitor violating advertisements and remove them immediately. They stressed the importance of adhering to the provisions of the law to avoid violations and fines.
