MPW unveils comprehensive road maintenance contracts
The Ministry of Public Works has announced a series of contracts aimed at the extensive maintenance of road infrastructure across Kuwait’s governorates. These contracts are open to local, Gulf, and international companies, with a specified implementation period of 1,095 days.
According to Al-Qabas daily, the outlined objectives of these contracts include:
- General maintenance of roads, squares, small construction works, emergency repairs, and miscellaneous tasks such as asphalt or tile installations
- Maintenance and construction of pressure and gravity lines in the sanitary sewage network, including cleaning, photography, seal openings, and connection of government buildings or residential plots.
- Maintenance, replacement, and reconstruction of sewers, including cleaning and construction of rainwater sewer lines.
- Installation and maintenance of road signs, traffic signs, safety barriers, and roadside grilles.
- Planning and maintenance of road and parking lot surfaces, as well as installation of reflective ground traffic signs and plastic poles.
- Comprehensive maintenance of agricultural areas and related infrastructure.
- Maintenance of external and border roads in the southern region of Kuwait.
Additionally, the Ministry proposed a maintenance contract specifically for Al-Salmi Road, with the goal of enhancing highway efficiency, improving safety measures, and addressing asphalt maintenance and bridge expansion joint issues.
